Here you can find answers to the most popular customer questions on iSpring products.
Content
Just run iSpring Suite on your desktop instead of accessing it within PowerPoint and choose Quizzes/Interactions, etc. to start. If you already have a quiz created with PowerPoint, just open the quiz, click on the top left corner and choose Publish from the drop-down list.
You can do this by going to Slide Properties on the iSpring Suite toolbar in PowerPoint and typing in a new name next to each slide.
Yes. Just go to Slide Properties, find the slide with the quiz, and select Branching. This is now the point at which a user can be sent back to the first slide after failing the quiz. The last step is to make the quiz start again when revisiting: place the cursor over the quiz icon and select Properties from the drop-down menu.
Change the navigation in the Player settings from Free to Limited or Forward Only.
In order to access iSpring Flip to create flipbooks, just run iSpring Suite on your desktop and choose Books.
There are two ways to add media files to your quiz: in the Form View mode or Slide view. Most likely, you added the pictures in Slide View mode, and these images can only be seen on a PC. Add pictures to questions and answers in Form View so that they appear on mobile devices as well.
You can save the animation state with iSpring Suite in the Player settings → Playback and Navigation . But you will need to use the iSpring Suite navigation buttons to move forward and backward and set up the navigation with regard to animations.

Yes. You can create courses and upload them to your LMS with iSpring Suite. Please check what standard your LMS supports and select it when publishing the course. You can convert your courses to SCORM 2004, SCORM 1.2 and AICC, Experience API (Tin Can), or cmi5.
If the iSpring add-in has disappeared from your PowerPoint ribbon, you can easily bring it back in a few simple steps.
iSpring Suite is a PowerPoint-based authoring toolkit and cannot create slides in or import presentations from software other than MS Office.
Installation
The version of iSpring you use will depend on the version of Windows that your computer is running.
Here is the entire list of system requirements for using iSpring Suite and viewing content created with iSpring.
iSpring Suite never asks you for a username and password. This message is sent by Microsoft, which means that you do not have full rights on your computer to install new programs. Please contact your IT support team for further assistance.
Currently, iSpring Suite is available for Windows OS only. We are working to make iSpring Suite compatible with other operating systems. You can also install Windows on your Mac.
Managing Projects
Send them both the PowerPoint file and the source folder automatically created by iSpring that contains quizzes, interactions and other files created or added with iSpring Suite.
Move the presentation back to where it was created, together with its source folder, and return to the previous name. Keep both the PowerPoint file and the source folder together under the same name, as they are connected.

We highly recommend that you work on your project only on local drives. Don’t keep the files created with iSpring Suite on online shared drives or external drives. This is because iSpring Suite might not have access to your local drives to create temporary files when your presentation is being created and saved.

Find quizzes (.quiz), interactions (.visuals), dialog simulations (.visuals), etc. on your computer and insert them back into the presentation by adding new slides and selecting Browse instead of creating new files.
Google Classroom doesn’t support HTML5 courses. But you can use it to distribute the content to your students - simply save your course as a ZIP file and attach it to a Google Classroom assignment. Your learners will be able to download the course and run it from their computer. However, you won’t be able to keep track of the learners’ progress. If you want to get full control over your students’ results and protect your courses from being transferred to third parties, upload them to an LMS.
Multimedia
Yes, it does. You can add video files from the PowerPoint toolbar. After conversion, all external video files will be embedded into your HTML5 presentation.
iSpring currently supports audio files in WAV, MP3, and WMA formats.
Make the animations play on click instead of automatically, and you will see them on the timeline in Manage Narration.

Access the screen recording editor by running iSpring Suite on your desktop, then choose Screencasts. When you work within the quiz editor, the interaction editor, or recording a screen in PowerPoint, it freezes.
You can create a playlist of background music that will play during the presentation in Slide Properties.

You can resume the slide with the video on it with iSpring Suite, just make sure that your video starts automatically and that both the resume and save animation state features are enabled in the Player settings.
Publishing
Here are some tips that can help:
- Restart your computer or close the POWERPNT.exe process in the task manager after the conversion issue and before the next conversion.
- Don't run other applications (except PowerPoint) when publishing the presentation.
- Save the presentation under a different name to a different local folder, then restart PowerPoint.
HTML5, MP4 video, SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, AICC, xAPI, and cmi5. You can also upload your content to iSpring Cloud, iSpring Learn LMS, and YouTube directly from iSpring Suite.
There is no way to publish your presentation to .exe with iSpring Suite anymore (we stopped supporting Flash), but you can easily do that with the EXE packager created by iSpring.
Video narrations added or recorded with iSpring Suite will not play after publishing your presentation to video; this only happens if you convert your project to HTML5 or SCORM. Save the recordings on your computer and add them through the Insert tab of PowerPoint. Don’t forget to make the video play automatically so that it shows up even if you convert your presentation to MP4 video.
Turn on the video lecture player or enable the video presenter to show video narrations in the Player settings.
You can improve the quality of pictures, videos, and audio files prior to publishing.
Embedded images, audio, and video files can significantly increase the output file size. You can make the output file smaller by choosing the output quality that lets you change the images, audio, and video compression.
You can easily do that when publishing. Just proceed to publish your presentation and select Size.
Registration
If you see an error message when entering your registration name and the license key you received via email after your order was processed, please try:
On the iSpring Suite toolbar, click the Help button and choose About from the menu.

Always try before you buy – this is an integral part of the Shareware philosophy and true approach for evaluating software, and we are all about it! Thanks to iSpring’s software architecture, it’s easy and flawless to both install and uninstall the software from your computer running Windows OS. So, even if the program doesn’t satisfy your requirements, you can easily delete it.
Another case when you need to uninstall is when you have purchased an upgrade for an iSpring product (e.g., upgraded from Pro 6.0 to Pro 7.0) and don’t want the previous version to remain on your computer.
Let’s see how to go about this simple task. Follow these steps to remove iSpring from your computer (Windows 7):
Make sure your PowerPoint is closed.
Go to Windows Start Menu → Control Panel.
Select Uninstall a program.
Note: The utility name and the way you open it can vary in different Windows versions. Check out how to access this tool in Windows 8. Also you can run this utility by its system name.
Select the iSpring program you want to uninstall in the list of programs and click Uninstall.
The uninstall Wizard window will open and display the progress bar.
The Wizard will prompt you to deactivate the license. In most cases, use the Deactivate License option. If you’re planning to reinstall at some point, you may prefer to keep it active.

The uninstallation process can take from one to three minutes. After that, the iSpring product will be removed from the list of programs and the PowerPoint toolbar.
How do I run the “Uninstall a program” utility fast?
Now let’s learn some “hacker stuff.” To call the Uninstall a program Windows utility, you can also go like this:
Open Run (Win + R). Alternatively, press the Win button to open Windows search programs and files.
Type appwiz.cpl and press Enter.
What could be faster and more impressive?
appwiz.cpl is the system’s name for the Uninstall a program wizard, so it will work across different versions of Windows, because this name stays intact. That means, it works with the oldest Windows XP (which supports iSpring products) all the way through to the newer versions, including the latest Windows 8.
Q: I have purchased the new version of iSpring – Pro 7. Do I need to keep the old one (Pro 6.2)? If not, how can I uninstall it?
A: iSpring Pro 7 is a next-generation product that includes all the capabilities of Pro 6 and even more. Therefore, we recommend uninstalling the older version and handling your tasks with the newer one. Uninstall the product using the standard Windows Uninstall a program utility.
Q: How do I remove an iSpring tab from my PowerPoint?
A: Close PowerPoint. Uninstall the iSpring program using the standard Windows Uninstall a program utility. After that, launch PowerPoint again. The iSpring tab will no longer be there.
Note: If you simply would like to temporarily remove the tab from the PowerPoint ribbon, then right click on your PowerPoint ribbon and click Customize the Ribbon. Uncheck add-ins you don’t need and then click OK.
Q: I got a new computer. Do I need to uninstall iSpring on the old computer prior to installing the license on the new one?
A: Yes, uninstall iSpring from your old computer and deactivate the license to be able to use it on another machine. Otherwise, your license activation will be lost if you no longer have access to your older computer, and you will have to contact iSpring support to restore your activations.
When you are planning to change a computer that already has iSpring software installed or you are just going to update your Windows system, the question arises: How do I transfer my iSpring license? The answer is easy: deactivate your license so it may be used for a future installation.
Let’s see how activation works. Each license for every iSpring product has a license name, license key and number of activations. Activation is done automatically via the Internet when you install an iSpring authoring tool and enter the licence key. Deactivation follows the same rules as activation.
There are two ways you can deactivate your license:
- Automatic deactivation via the Internet. Uninstall the product and choose the deactivation option.
- Manual deactivation via email. If you don’t have access to the installed copy (e.g. hardware/system damage), ask our support team to reset the activation for you.
Automatic deactivation
Method 1
The most practical way to deactivate the license is to uninstall the iSpring program from your computer. Use the Uninstall a program Windows tool in order to do that. The setup will ask you if you would like to deactivate the license. Choose Deactivate License.
Method 2
Also you can use the iSpring activation utility supplied with the iSpring installation package. In this case the program will not be uninstalled from your system but simply deactivated instead. Follow these steps:
- Close PowerPoint.
- Open the iSpring folder in your Program Files folder on your system disk.
- If you have several iSpring programs installed, you will see different folders per product e.g. Suite 7, Presenter 6. Open the folder of the product you want to deactivate.
- Run the file Activation.exe and you will see the iSpring Activation Wizard.
Note: in previous versions (6 and earlier) this utility was called Deactivation.exe
Choose Deactivate the license, and once your license is deactivated, you will see a message indicating successful deactivation and displaying the number of activations left.
Manual deactivation
This way will require the assistance of iSpring’s support staff, so make sure you’ve tried automatic deactivation first before you proceed.
Manual activation cannot be done in the following cases:
