I've been having the same problem, I tried the method above to fix it but it didn't work. Do you have an older PC? I did some research and found that the error could be caused by not having enough RAM to load all the textures and thus chrashing the game. It was said that one would need at least 4 gb for some mods to work effectively. Some fixes they suggested are to go into configuation and turn the texture quality down to at least 40%(I went all the way down to 10%), turn "force single threading" on, and turn "load textures on demand" on. I find now that I've done these things that the games crashed less, even though I still end up with textures not appearing. I've decided that it's the lesser of two weevils
@SmoothHobo I assume you have a system with 32 bit windows 7/vista. simply do my instruction:
Start -> All Programs -> Accessories, right click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
in Command Prompt type "bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVA 2990" enter and restart your system.
however if your ram is lower than 3 gb it may not work.
Thanks aldo you just saved me hours of face-desking
@aldosmart i have a question since i saw that you seem to know what you`re doing. I`m crashing a lot like myself just like the other guy you helped. So I have 32 bit windows 7 ultimate. What should i do if you know. Or anybody really please help.
I fix this bug very easy . contact me on facebook.. davide bologni.. for solved this problem..i give u instruction

There is another way to make it work for 3gb and below ram/s
Change the number in "set IncreaseUserVA 299o" to 2800 then restart your computer.

Why do I keep getting a runtime error on my computer?
It could be a result of using a mod version if you’ve tried downloading the application from any third-party website for a discount or any resource providing it for free of cost.
Then I recommend you remove that application from your device entirely as soon as you can because it could prove disastrous for your entire system. And then try installing the application again after buying it from trusted authorities.
Another reason for getting this error is the incompatible system version or RAM. It is crucial to have all the minimum requirements to run the application smoothly. So, do check if you have the following:
It must support Windows 7 or above versions with 64-bit.
CPU processor – Intel Core i3-8100; AMD Ryzen 3 1200
System memory should be at least 6 GB RAM.
And free space of 60 GB in your system.
Lastly, try configuring the Load Textures on Demand and Force Single Threading settings.
How can I fix the mount and blade runtime error?
- Create a Steam account.
- Purchase the Mount and Blade game from Steam.
- Modify the launcher’s settings.

im having it too but i crash almost everytime i enter or exit the battle along with durig battles as well, but when i'm on the main map,it's stable. but even with all graphic settings at the lowest,it just doesn't work. i checked the rgl and it says like objects/ textures are missing, but i've already verified game cache twice and reinstalled the mod i'm using (annodomoni or some thing like that) and i know i have the room for the textures to be in my game files (i have over 40 gigs to use) but it's no bueno apparently. Im gonna try to reinstall the mod again and maybe get the patch that they put out recently.

at the end of the rgl is says this:

Hi Shade
You have memory problem. Could you post your rgl_log.txt?
You can try this too:
Open your rgl_config.txt (you can find this in warband main folder and in your documents\warband folder)

My rig is a GTX 770. 8 GB of ram. I was forcing a game (Medal of Honor 2010) to play on DirectX 9 due to it crashing when set on auto. It did not crash first few days, then finally it suffered a BSOD. I restarted my comp and games felt sluggish, slow loading screens, and Perisno would not even work. It would repeatedly crash on the loading screen when on DirectX 9 and when I switch to 7 it loads but crashes when I attempt to start a saved game or do a new one. I also reinstalled my drivers. I did a lot of other things too, like check integrity cache, reinstall, ect.
My other games work fine now, but Perisno still does this after drivers were reinstalled.
Here is a screen.

Reinstall the game.
There's not really ever been a true fix for the runtime error of fun, but typically a reinstall has fixed them.
Edit: Also is it possible for you to maybe install on the C drive as opposed to your F drive? Something I notice a lot is that error appears a lot on non-C drive installs.

I open NVidia settings in control panel :
manage 3D settings:
program settings:
Mount & Blade Warband
Threaded Optimization OFF
then when Mount&Blade starts, before jumping into perisno
configure
advanced
force single threading SELECT
Mount & Blade in general, due to limitations in the python coding used by modders
isn't very capable of running multi-core. It's not multi-threaded. Run the game as a single core
and the OS can put other tasks on all the many cores you have. I have 4 cores/8 threads too,
but the simple fact is setting force single threading stops 99% of my issues. Haven't crashed in M&B Warband for at least 2 years,
across 5 PCs of varying configurations.
and otherwise in control panel:
system
advanced system settings
Performance: Settings
Advanced:
Virtual memory:
total paging file size for all drives:
not less than half the size of your motherboard RAM (for SSD)
equal to your motherboard RAM (for normal hard disk)
if the number shown is less
click change: custom size:
fill in the same values for minimum and maximum
for the drive letter in a mixed SSD & Hard disk system put it on the hard disk to save wear on the SSD (too much writing)
Those 3 things are the most significant causes of your blue screens.
They're not per se Perisno specific; Brytenwalda is also like this. I'd reckon anything with Diplomacy mod embedded is a candidate for this treatment,
if not every mod of M&B Warband. Other people say they run multiple cores etc but theyre also crying on forums about "unfixable blue screens";
so you know, high end rig isn't the problem. The problem is the person too stubborn to even bother to try favoring compatibility over performance.
I perform plenty fine -- but then again, even my oldest system (I replace/displace a PC every 2-3 years; they're my livelihood, and so I end up with many PCs)is tuned as best as it can run, outside the game at the OS level.

From the screen you may have a Visual C++ runtime library corrupt; reinstall Direct 9 and it should reload the VC distribution.
Else reinstall Mount & Blade Warband, again only to get the correct Visual C++ library installed. One of your other, older games may have put a much earlier version of the VC runtime library, and THATS holding up your newer games.
Besides the other 3 changes I asked.

GeForce Experience doesn't appear to offer the option of Thread Optimization. Reinstalled M&B:W, set option to force single threading in the game, Virtual Memory is the same size as my RAM (w SSD) . but still get that Runtime error every time I launch Perisno, whether v6.11 or 7.0

Thread optimization is from 3D settings under Nvidia control panel.
Its not offered in Nvidia GPUs earlier than the 400 series, so
It would basically place part of the GPU execution as separate threads to run in separate cores of the CPU
Umm, make sure you have checked "Load textures on demand" when you first start mount and blade BEFORE entering the Perisno mod, theres an options page. go to video and triple check that "Load textures on demand" is set.
I'd next if that failed from the same options:video at the Perisno page but not having started Perisno yet,
drag the "texture detail" slider down in about increments of 20 and try again. at 80 % texture detail, the texture size to load is
(.8 x . = .64 times normal size.
at 60% detail the size of dedicated video RAM consumed by textures is (.6 x .6) = .36 times total, for people with really small video RAM
else set Render method to DirectX7, just in case the DirectX 9 driver was set to an old version by some other game and this is the first product that really noticed.

Well, it's back. For no apparent reason Perisno 0.71 won't load again, crashes while loading setting data. Threaded optimization is still OFF and Load textures on Demand is still enabled. Deleted and reloaded 0.71, rebooted a couple times, no joy. PoP still plays fine, so maybe I'll stick w that for a while. Meh.

Well that sounds unhappy.
Two things that come to mind is in Nvidia control panel
1 see if there's a profile set for Mount&Blade Warband or if your turning off Threaded Optimization was to "Global"
a profile set for a specific program will over-ride global settings. You might have toggled all sorts of things in frustration earlier.
2 next dumb down the game to see when it loads/fails
start Mount &Blade Warband, don't select/start Perisno yet jump into configure : Video : Render Method: set to DirectX 7
still make sure "Load Textures on demand" is checked, max frame rate 80, you can start with texture detail 80 to use (64% of normal) less video RAM, shadow quality to low and anti-aliasing off for the moment
See if you can load the module now. I'm not asking does it look PRETTY, just did it load?
Next leave everything else alone and set to DirectX9 to test if another game you installed overwrote the DirectX 9 runtime.
That's a quite common occurrence. Then you could turn shadows to high and set anti-aliasing to not > 4x and see.
Finally you can up texture detail to 100%. Your statement PoP runs great but Perisno bombs; well, Perisno has considerably
more items, textures, resources to attempt to preload. Thus it will ALWAYS fail without "load textures on demand". But
you may have set other Nvidia 3D features to suit another game, and enabled something that gags in the Warband environment
with something we have. I typically see problems when older games try to do something with flare or partial transparencies
such that the graphics driver version matters.
So which video card / driver are you using?
I don't have any ATI products for compatibility testing, at least not in the last 10 years, so I can't comment for Radeon video but I know Nvidia reasonably well. If you DO get it working, just increase settings a bit at a time till it breaks and back off.
3 I can assure you I haven't made any new low level calls in Perisno, at least not in our source. I build with 1.158 Warband;
I hear rumors from time to time the steam updates do something weird, but as I don't have Steam I'm not really in a position to critique them. It's a pity even Taleworlds took off 1.158; I'm not sure they don't have issues with the latest install they use.
There is some speculation a new modder framework will be released shortly but at the moment nothing at all has been mentioned by Taleworlds, and as I'm a schmuck I'd expect they'd tell me last. I'm just another person who bought Warband as an end user; just like you. I don't really have anything other than sheer size of the resources done differently in Perisno than say in Brytenwalda or Floris. But that said, both of those needed fairly high system bandwidth to load, and we haven't held back anything. There isn't a build for antique systems; PoP can run on some pretty weak hardware and ours can't. But one of our
assistants here had an amazingly pathetic PC and still got farther on loading than you report; his PC must be 8 years or more. I'm surprised he isn't still on an AGP based graphics, so at least it can't be > 10 years.
So in this section we have to match your system bandwidth to Mount & Blade Warband's expected loading:
First, let me assure you I have an excellent PC, lest you be tempted to be MUCH more aggressive in your settings because, well, you spent a lot and figure that means you can set all settings to "ultimate" without side effects. Hmm.
This actually is my second best PC, and its already *4 years old*: (it was the prototype for Dell 3500 workstation, X58 chipset)
Windows "Experience" numbers from Control Panel: Classic View: System: click on "Experience Index"
basically a great video card on a lousy system == a lousy experience, etc. So lets get a baseline first:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4sh7GRykLgENmhSQVg1TGt3dUU/view?usp=sharing Windows "Experience"
That's my (lesser) development PC. It looks like yours, maybe in that it's I7 based, has a 120 GB SSD for boot + Warband
and a Nvidia 640 based graphics card running at PCI-e v2.0 due to the age of the motherboard. And 3 memory channels atm,
which is a little weird, with 4 GB per channel so 12 GB physical system RAM. Here's how I set my game on THIS PC:
Well it would be sad for us to lose you, but lets review 1-3 and see if a better clue comes up as to where to adjust for your conditions (in as much as it works on my PCs, but they are definitely Very tuned).
Mount and Blade is an epic series of games that has attracted a lot of gamers. It is a combat game where a warrior engages in fights and explores the country land of Carladia.
But at the same time, it is more prone to errors as well. And, a lot of users have complained about the same runtime errors.
How do I fix a runtime error in Windows 10?
