Не работает pitch bend fl studio
In this tutorial we are going to cover how to use FL Studio's master pitch and tempo tools to create a massive slow down you'll hear at the end of some songs. This effect first came from records that would slow down as they came to an end and caused a drop in pitch and speed. Soon DJs would emulate this at a club as an effect. In the digital realm these is no record we can put our hands on, but we can automate a slider or two to get the same effect. If your using another DAW, check to see if you have a master pitch or tempo you can automate in your DAW. With all that in mind, let us begin!
Step 1: Pick Your Beat
Before we can start the slow down we will need something we can slow down first. To really show this effect off I am going to use an instance of Drumaxx and create beat by using a prebuilt pattern in the Drum n Bass genre. Drum n Bass usually floats around 170-190 BPM and is perfect for our purposes. After that I will drag my pattern out for 8 bars in a piano roll and set my tempo to 180. In addition, I am going to add a bass line to give it some context.
At this point you can use whatever you want for a sound source but I recommend something at a high BPM and not an audio loop. Audio loops that are slowed down act like records, this is meant to show you how do get the same effect with multiple tracks. Here is my beat.
Step 2: Automating the Tempo
Now that we have our beat laid out we are first going to slow down the tempo. If you go back to your tempo window and right click it you will see a menu pop up. Click "create automation clip" and you'll see a envelope appear in your playlist window below your pattern.
Now since we want to adjust the tempo at the very end, let's say the last 2 bars for a quick slow down, we need to add more control points. At the beginning of bar 7 add a control point and make sure it has the same value as the first point so the tempo won't for the first 6 bars (mine values were 17%). Assuming your last point is at the very end of your beat, drag it all the way to the bottom of the automation clip. If you hit playback you'll hear a massive slow down now at the end of your beat. You can also take your tension point and adjust the fall off curve of the tempo. Here is what mine looks and sounds like.
Step 3: Automate the Master Pitch
The Master Pitch fader is the only easy way to change the pitch of everything all at once. Unless you're trying to quickly change keys of a song, the slowdown is the only other obvious use for it. The Master Pitch fader can go a maximum of 1200cents lower than the standard pitch and we will use all off it. Again if you right click the fader you can create an automation clip for the pitch fader; it should appear under your playlist.
Again add your control points to your automation clip so that they about match your tempo automation. You probably will not want wildly different curves for these two since pitch and speed coincide with records and that is the effect we are trying to emulate. Here is my result.
Final Thoughts
You now have recreated the record slow down effect, but else can you do? You can always go the opposite and speed up! Now remember, if you're slowing down a full song that is not separated into tracks you should get pitch change inherently like a record. Also keep in mind, when you slow down a song this drastically, the last note will always ring much longer. Make sure you leave a little bit of room for the pitch to drop for the length of the last note so it doesn't become stagnant. Hope you liked the tutorial!

Welcome to the headache that is MIDI pitch bends. I don't know how to explain this more concisely without leaving anything out. I'm sorry.
So, when FL Studio imports a MIDI file, it assumes a pitch bend range of ±2 semitones. When you go to the event editor for the pitch wheel, it shows a potential range of ±48 semitones. The pitch wheel data gets scaled accordingly so that of that ±48 semitones, the data will only cover ±2.
However, this full ±48 semitones only applies to native plugins. Third party plugins have their own pitch bend range, and what that range is depends entirely on the plugin. The most common is ±2 semitones, but some plugins allow this to be customized, and others just do their own thing altogether.
Problem is, that plugin's pitch bend range often isn't accurately reflected in the event editor. By default, third party plugins will respond to pitch wheel data in the ±25% range with anything above or below that causing no change, but this can be changed by going to the VST wrapper settings and changing the Send pitch bend range setting. Setting this to 2 will make it match up with the pitch bend data that was imported.
However, if you imported a MIDI file, that data is going to be in a MIDI Out plugin, and MIDI Out only sends out pitch bend data in that ±25% range with no way to change it. Changing the Send pitch bend range setting won't have any effect on what the plugin receives from the MIDI Out plugin, either. Since the pitch bend data gets imported into the ±2 semitone range, the maximum of the event editor is ±48 semitones, and 25% of 48 is 12, you can use Scale Levels to bring it up to the ±25% range by scaling twice at 200% and once at 150%. Or just cut the event data from MIDI Out's pitch wheel and paste it on the plugin's.
One final caveat, that Send pitch bend range setting sends a MIDI RPN command to the plugin to tell it what its pitch bend range should be. Most of the plugins I've encountered don't actually respond to this command, but some do. For those that do, the event editor for that plugin can be assumed to show the full ±48 semitones at all times, it will just stop bending the pitch when it reaches the limit.
Having quick pitch bends on single notes, or having a sound slowly rise or fall in pitch can be an effective way to add richness to a song. Whether you'd like to use the pitch bend wheel on a MIDI controller, or draw in pitch bends with a mouse, this tutorial covers several techniques that take advantage of pitch modulation.
Step 1 - Single Notes In a Phrase
A common technique is to quickly bend the pitch of a single note within a phrase. For this step, we will explore how this technique can add something extra to a pattern. Here is our plucked string pattern without pitch bends.
Now I'll record a pitch bend using the pitch bend wheel on my MIDI controller. After trying a few things I recorded a short, upward bend on one of the notes near the end of the phrase. In FL Studio, you can choose to show automation instead of velocity in the lower frame of the piano roll, by right clicking on the gray space in the lower-left of the piano roll, or by selecting it from the drop-down menu on the top bar.
This view can be useful for seeing how automation relates to the timing of the notes, but for editing or creating automation in a pattern, it is better to use FL Studio's Event Editor because it gives you a separate window and allows you to make edits such as copy-paste without affecting the notes. You can edit the events or draw new ones in the Event Editor by right clicking on the parameter you want to automate, which in this case pitch knob in the Channel Settings window.
Step 2 - Separating Automation and Note Data
To make it easier I am going to cut the notes from this pattern and paste it into another pattern. This will not copy and paste the pitch automation, so the pitch bend and the note data will be in different patterns.
With the automation and the notes in separate patterns, we can have more freedom with the pitch bends. For example, we can have sections in the song where pitch bends don't occur but the notes do, and we could also have different types of pitch bend patterns throughout the song. It is also possible now to slice-up and rearrange pitch bend patterns without affecting the notes. But for this tutorial, let's do something simpler. Let's add another pitch bend to our pattern by cloning the automation clip and pasting it in another place of the timeline.
By holding the Alt key, we can drag the playlist clip freely, disabling the snap-to-grid, allowing us to more finely adjust the timing of the pitch bend. To get a different feel, I wanted to adjust this one so that the bend happens later in the note. The close-up image below shows how the pitch bend was shifted off the grid, to be in the middle of a note. You can hear how having two pitch bends makes the pattern more interesting and gives it a different feel.
Finally, here is our pattern with a few more instruments to give an idea of what it might sound like in a song:
This technique works well with all types of plucked instruments and synths.
Step 3 - Slower Rise
Here is a new pattern without pitch bends. For this example I want to show how to use pitch bends over a longer period of time. With longer bends, it's important to hear the context and be influenced by the beat of the track. In the audio example, it starts with the synth sound on its own to show which sound it is, and then the rest of the instruments come in.
It already has an LFO linked to the pitch, creating a vibrato effect. Let's add some more pitch modulation by recording pitch knob movements, or by drawing in automation.
It's subtle, but noticeable. To make it more dramatic, we could change the pitch bend range on either FL Studio's Channel Settings or on the plugin itself. Depending on the plugin, using one or the other may give different results:
Step 4 - Longer and Gated
Now I want to show a longer example. Here is our new pattern without any further changes to the pitch.
With pitch automation, it sounds more interesting, but the sound is still taking over the track.
To fix this, I'm going to use a freeware gating effect called
Stormgate1. This will allow us to make quick mutes to the sound, an effect often called a Trance Gate. I'm starting with the preset called "gating faster" because it cycles through 4 pages, giving me 16 bars to work with. I made it so that the first two bars are quarter notes and the last two bars are eighth notes. In my pattern, the second eighth note is missing on the fourth bar.
Finally, To ensure that the gating effect only happens in this part of the song, we can make automation clips that turn the effect on and off.
In this example, we used pitch modulation to effect the pitch over a long period of time. This technique is often used in long sound effects like risers for creating tension before a drop or switch-up in the song's arrangement.
Summary
In this tutorial, we covered how to incorporate pitch bends into melodies in various ways. Of course, these aren't the only ways to use pitch modulation, for example, you can bend entire chords to get a broken mellotron-type sound or use it on a clean electric guitar sound to get a Hawaiin-style guitar. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and will get great use out of pitch bends and modulation.
