При конфигурации линков на оборудовании ePMP 1000 от Cambium Networks часто возникают вопросы, связанные с конфигурацией мощности передатчика, как на стороне базовой станции, так и на абонентских станциях.
Часто задаваемые вопросы: почему реальная мощность передатчика отличается от той, которая настроена на UI, почему реальная мощность периодически скачет на устройствах, хотя настройки не менялись, и прочие.
Сегодня попробуем рассмотреть все нюансы конфигурации мощности передатчика.
Начнем с того что все устройства линейки ePMP 1000 c последней доступной версией прошивки (2.6) имеют 3 основных режима роботы (протокола):
— TDD — режим работы с полноценно реализованным механизмом TDD и GPS синхронизацией, для работы в режиме PMP(point-to-multipoint). Для PTP(point-to-point) линков может использоваться TDD PTP, который является таким же TDD режимом с ограничением на подключение одной абонентской станции;
— ePTP Master/Slave — режим не поддерживающий GPS синхронизацию, для работы в режиме PTP(point-to-point) c минимальным значение задержки при передаче;
— Standard W-Fi — режим основанный полностью на стандарте 802.11n.
Также каждое устройство ePMP может использоваться как базовая станция(AP — Access Point) или абонентская станция(SM — subscriber module).
Отличие отображения мощности передатчика на AP и SM.
Сразу хочу сделать акцент на том что для понимания данного вопроса нужно знать о отличиях обработки абонентского трафика и трафика управления на оборудовании ePMP.
Абонентский трафик всегда будет передаваться на максимально возможном MCS. Трафик же управления всегда передается на MCS1 или 0 в зависимости от конфигурации (опция доступная на UI). Таким образом мощность передатчика для передачи пакетов управления (management) и информационных (data) пакетов будет отличаться (к этому вопросу вернемся немного позже).
Таким образом, на AP всегда отображается мощность передачи менеджмент трафика, а на SM — мощность передачи data трафика.
Так сделано не случайно, AP может передавать трафик на каждую SM в режиме PMP на своем MCS, и соответственно, со со своей мощностью, и лишь мощность передачи data пакетов одинакова для всех SM.
В общем, на мощность передатчика влияют три основных ограничения:
— Regulatory (Регуляторика)
— ATPC (Adaptive Transmission Power Control) — ATPC работает только в TDD режиме!
— Dynamic TX Power (Динамическая мощность передачи)
Регуляторика — ограничение мощности передатчика в соответствии с требованиями компетентных органов, в зависимости от используемого кода страны. Зависит от используемого Country Сode, полосы частот, режима роботы (PMP/PTP). Работает как на AP, так и на SM.
ATPC (Adaptive Transmission Power Control) — механизм адаптивного автоматического управлением мощностью. Механизм предназначен для уменьшения вторичной Uplink интерференции при работе на многосекторных вышках с переиспользованием частот. Вторичной интерференцией называется интерференция на конкретной базовой станции от SM с соседнего сектора. Уменьшения влияния вторичной интерференции достигают путем уменьшения «избыточной» мощности на SM.
Конфигурация параметров ATPC проводится на стороне AP в секции Power Control на UI. Единственным параметром является Subscriber Module Target Receive Level, т.е. желаемая мощность приема UL сигнала от SM. Таким образом, если AP принимает сигнал с уровнем превышающим заданный в Subscriber Module Target Receive Level, то мощность передатчика на SM будет автоматически уменьшена. И наоборот, если мощность недостаточна, то она будет повышена, если это будет возможно в соответствии с Регуляторикой.
На стороне SM присутствует опция конфигурации Tx Power — Auto или Manual. В режиме авто — конфигурация происходит автоматически, что и понятно.
Однако не должно вводить в заблуждения опция Manual, в данном режиме Tx Power также регулируется ATPC, заданное на UI значение будет, лишь, являться верхним уровнем, выше которого ATPC не сможет поднять мощность передачи на SM.
Dynamic TX Power — ограничение вызванное качественными показателями приемо-передающей системы. Ограничение мощности передатчика связано с увеличением значения вектора ошибки (EVM — Error Vector Magnitude) при высших MCS c более сложными типами модуляции. Ограничение имеет частотную зависимость и также зависит от типа устройства. Для каждого устройства линейки ePMP существуют отдельные таблицы ограничений Dynamic Tx Power.

В качество дополнительных настроек можно установить желаемый уровень uplink RSSI во вкладке Radio.
По умолчанию параметр равен -60 дБм, при отсутствии помех можно уменьшить до -50-55 дБм. При наличии сильных помех показатель стоит выставить на значение -75-80 дБм.
Обратите также внимание, что допускать понижения модуляции нельзя, поскольку это приведет к уменьшению пропускной способности UL-канала.
Первоначальная проверка
Перед тем, как заняться установкой оборудования, не лишним будем проверить его работу «виртуально». На данном этапе крайне важно, чтобы модуляция MCS15 была максимальной в обоих направлениях. (up-down-link).

Ориентировочный расчет
Также предварительно рекомендуется провести расчеты по уровням сигнала UpLink и DownLink RSSI (база и абонент соответственно). Для этого удобнее всего применять классический калькулятор энергетического бюджета link’а. Учитываемые параметры – выходная мощность, коэффициент усиления, дальность сигнала и рабочего канала.
Настройка соединения
После установки связи между клиентом и базой, необходимо сравнить значения uplink/downlink RSSI со значениями, полученными на калькуляторе. Если в прямой видимости с открытой зоной Френеля параметры расходятся больше, чем на 5 дБм, необходимо перепроверить все этапы, проведенные ранее.
Также стоит обратить внимание на используемую модуляцию. Максимальная пропускная способность обеспечивается за счет MCS15/MCS15.

Важно помнить, что при наличии крупной помехи в -70 дБм стандартные значения сигнала могут привести к установке модуляции MCS1 для uplink. Если в данном канале не хватает пропускной способности, модуляция может быть выставлена и для downlink. Таким образом, вероятно снижение скорости передачи данных.
Для устранения данной проблемы необходимо отслеживать выставленную мощность базы на станции абонента. Если она ниже той, которая установлена на абонентской станции, следует увеличить уровень сигнала и достичь максимальной выходной мощности на станции абонента. Это обеспечит высокую модуляцию на uplink’е. Модуляция очень точно определяет пропускную способность канала связи. За счет этого и происходит увеличение скорости передачи данных – чего и стоило ожидать в данной статье.
Настройка клиентского устройства ePMP 1000 со встроенной антенной (Integrated Radio) для подключения к беспроводной сети широкополосного доступа. Настраивать устройство рекомендуем при помощи веб-интерфейса.
Установив устройство, подключаем его к локальной сети, мы можем воспользоваться любым браузером, и набрав в адресной строке, IP адрес абонентской станции (по умолчанию 192.168.0.2) получить доступ к программному обеспечению.
Для авторизации вводим логин и пароль, по умолчанию admin/admin, после этого попадаем на главную страницу интерфейса настроек.
Для первоначальной настройки ePMP 1000 можно было бы воспользоваться мастером быстрой конфигурации QUICK START, но в нем отсутствуют некоторые важные параметры, поэтому воспользуемся разделом CONFIGURE, где начинаем настройку с подраздела System (кнопка слева экрана).
Здесь выставляем параметру Device Mode (режим работы устройства) значение STA (Station), а в строке Device Name вводим желаемое сетевое имя устройства. В группе параметров User Management рекомендуем изменить установленный по умолчанию пароль (Administrator password). Настройки ePMP 1000 в разделе System на этом завершены, рекомендуем для надежности после каждого этапа сохранять внесенные изменения при помощи кнопки с пиктограммой дискеты в правом верхнем углу экрана. Если с момента последнего сохранения в настройки были внесены изменения, вокруг кнопки с дискетой появляется голубое свечение.
Переходим в раздел Radio (верхняя кнопка слева экрана). Устанавливаем значение параметра Scan Channel Bandwidth (сканируемую ширину канала) 20/40 MHz, и отмечаем весь список (select all) сканируемых частотных каналов Radio Frequency 20 MHz Scan List и Radio Frequency 40 MHz Scan List — это позволит не менять настройки клиентского устройства при смене настроек базовой станции. Параметру Transmitter Output Power (максимальная выходная мощность) необходимо присвоить значение в соответствии условиями приема радиосигнала от базовой станции.
Переходим в раздел Security. В поле Authentication Pre-shared Key вводим пароль (ключ) для связи с точкой доступа. Здесь же можно задать правила для Layer 2 и Layer 3 Firewall. Не забываем сохранить настройки.
Далее переходим в раздел Network, и задаем параметры проводного интерфейса клиентского устройства ePMP 1000. Параметр STA Network Mode позволяет выбрать необходимый режим работы устройства:
- NAT — для работы в сети беспроводного провайдера в качестве маршрутизатора
- Bridge — для создания моста
В группе параметров LAN IP можно выбрать автоматическое получение IP-адреса беспроводного интерфейса от DHCP-сервера, выбрав значение DHCP параметра LAN IP Address Mode или же выбрать значение Static и указать вручную статический IP-адрес, маску подсети и шлюз.
При выборе режима работы NAT в соответствующем подразделе указываем IP-адрес устройства и маску локальной подсети. При выборе в правой верхней части раздела режима ADVANCED, можно настроить локальный DHCP-сервер.
Сохраняем внесенные изменения и переходим на главную страницу. Если все настройки сделаны корректно, в статистике должна появиться информация об установленном соединении. Более подробную информацию о нем можно увидеть, кликнув пункт главного меню MONITOR, и перейдя в раздел Wireless Status.

Чтобы настройка имела в первую очередь положительный эффект и способствовала максимальной скорости передачи данных, настоятельно рекомендуется ознакомиться с данной статьей.
Помехи
Оборудование крайне примечательно дополнительным функционалом, среди них – Анализатор спектра. Он позволяет выявить наличие помех до установки оборудования. При наличии уровня сигнала в -75 дБм и более – в рабочем диапазоне помехи присутствуют. Это также стоит учитывать при настройке.
Основные настройки
Чтобы получить действительно эффективный канал при тестировании, следует также учесть, что после определения границ рабочего канала, необходимо выставить максимальные значения выходной мощности – на базе и клиентском устройстве. Параметры – 18 дБм, 19 дБм, или 23 дБм для диапазонов 5.3 Ггц, 5.6 Ггц и 5.8 Ггц соответственно.
Для тестирования пропускной способности в full-дуплексном режиме, на базовой станции производится деление фрейма DL/UL Ratio в режим Flexible.
После проведения необходимого тестирования, можно выставлять требуемое деление up и down-линков.
Как дополнение, можно на базе установить автоматическую регулировку мощности на уровне -40 дБм.
Обновление ПО
Поскольку производитель тщательно следит за качеством поставляемого программного обеспечения, на официальном сайте всегда можно и даже нужно обновиться до последней версии. Это позволит избежать различных ошибок и получить всю пользу от нововведений.

Устраняем ошибки подключения
Если используется внешняя антенна, необходимо удостовериться в корректном подключении поляризации V и H. Потери, которые могут наступить в случае появления данной ошибки, достаточно глобальны.
