Checking file system on c the type of the file system is ntfs что это
One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended that you continue. To skip disk checking, press any key within (counts down from 10) seconds.
So I have tried several times to press a button and to not press a button and no matter what I do or don't do, it continues to count down to 1 second. Then, after a while it goes black.
After that I can not get the computer to do anything. If I restart it, the same thing happens. I read some other posts with suggestions about going to start and doing things. However, I can not get to start so what do I do?

“Checking file system…”
- неправильное отключение компьютера во время предыдущего сеанса работы;
- сбой электропитания и внезапное отключение ПК;
Checking file system on C the type of the file system is NTFS”,
WinDFT, Seagate Seatools, Victoria.
- 10-15 минут при 50-100 Гб на диске C и наличии свободного места;
Checking file system on C the type of the file system is NTFS – надпись появляется на чёрном фоне при старте Windows, и компьютер блокируется надолго.
Checking file system on C the type of the file system is NTFS” – что это?
Pressing a key doesn't do any good, letting it go doesn't do any good, it just stops counting with 1 second. The hard drive isn't blinking like its going through a seach or check, it just blinks briefly once every 3 seconds or so, basically looking like it can't figure out what to do. I left it alone one time for 2 hours and the screen remained the same saying "To skip disk checking, press any key within 1 second(s). Reboot, I get the same thing, unplug power and reboot , same thing, threaten to throw it out the window and reboot, get the same thing.
Well I finally was able to get the system loaded. Looks like if you press ESC or SPACE BAR or a number on the keypad the PC hangs at 1 second doing nothing, but it does not hang if you press a letter key. strange. Well anyway, once loaded I set the check disk and fix errors commands and tried to reboot. Well, same problem and hassle so rebooted again and quickly pressed some letter keys to bypass the hang. So how do i fix this?
I followed the instructions to go to an elevated command prompt. I did "chkntfs /x C:" C drive is the one with the problem and the rebooted. It didn't work, I get the same black screen.
I did run "fsutil dirty query c:" and got "Volume - c: is Dirty"
I tried to run "chkdsk /f /r c:" and got "The type of the file system is NTFS. Cannot lock current drive. Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked next time the system restarts? (Y/N)" So once again I hit yes and tried to reboot. Same problem.
I typed "chkntfs /x c:" to dissable checking C. Nope. Same problem.
As a side note and in the effort to help track this down I did just install Microsoft Office 2010 yesterday. And I now notice that under COMPUTER I now have a new hard drive called "Microsoft Office Click-to-Run 2010 (Protected) (Q:)" it has 0 bytes. Thinking this is the problem I tried to run Check Disk on the Q drive. I get the error "The disk check could not be performed becasue Windows can't access the disk". No idea if that's important or not.

Hi sweber67,
I would suggest you to steps provided below and then check. You will have to disable the automatic disk checking and then run the disk check from WINRE command prompt and check if the C: drive error (is any) get fixed-
Step 1:
To disable automatic disk checking at Windows startup through registry, go to the following
REGISTRY EDIT DISCLAIMER:
Important: Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
a. Click Start then type regedit in the Start Search box.
b. Right click on regedit.exe and then click "Run as administrator".
c. Expand the "+" to the following keys.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
d. In the right hand pane, double clickBootExecute.
The default value of the key is autocheck autochk *
* means every drive is checked for consistency. Just add /K:C at the end before*. /K switch will disable autocheck on C: drive at Windows startup.
So the final value should look like this:
autocheck autochk /k:C *
c. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Repair your computer, and then press Enter. (If Repair your computer isn't listed as an option, then your computer doesn't include preinstalled recovery options, or your network administrator has turned them off.)
d. Select a keyboard layout, and then click Next.
e. On the System Recovery Options menu, click command prompt to open.
f. Type "chkdsk /f" then enter.
g. Type "chkdsk /r" enter.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

I have no idea what just happened, or why it happened, or what it is! My computer was fine before, and is fine right now. I have done a full scan of the computer, and nothing came up. What just happened? Is my computer okay?
Thanks!

· Was there a force shut down of the computer before you started it today?
This process of checking the file system is known as check disk. Check disk is automatically initiated if the computer was not shut down properly or if something had gone wrong while the last shut down. The check disk checks for the consistency of the hard drive. There are a few initial tests that the hardware or software (Operating System) can check at start up that may indicate there is a problem with the "consistency" of the hard drive. Your OS is running ‘chkdsk’ which is a program to fix those programs.
The tool then tries to repair any that it finds. For example, Chkdsk can repair problems related to bad sectors, lost clusters, cross-linked files, and directory errors. Problems such as internal file allocation tables, file integrity, file pointers, and many more can easily get corrupted and sometimes just as easily fixed.
If the test starts happening more frequently, then your hard drive could be failing and I would suggest replacing it before it does. If it has happened just for once you need not worry about it as it could also be a routine to check the consistency of the hard drive.
Hope this information is helpful.

I think your keyboard may be damaged. I mean, it looks like the keyboard is not working outside windows i.e while booting.
It may be disabled from BIOS. Check with any other keyboard if it works.

Since the OP never responded back from January, 2010, as well as tekintg not specifying exactly what their error is, I am going to lock down this thread.
I'll also recommend anyone who has this issue to start their own thread since it will be specifically catered to your individual problem. Also, it being a brand new thread will give it more attention to all the community members, making it more likely to be looked at and answered.
Be sure to include all necessary information that will help with diagnosing your particular issue, including but not limited to: PC make & model, PC specifications, OS type, a description of what led to the problem you are facing, what steps you have taken in trying to resolve the issue, etc. . The more specific and detailed you can be, the better it will help with providing you valuable suggestions for troubleshooting your conundrum. Thanks.
