I have reserved my copy of windows 10 and received a confirmation from MS that my system meets the minimum requirement. Now I am ready to install upgrade and it tells me that my display driver NVIDIO Geforce 7150M /nForce 630M is not compatible and I can not upgrade it to W10!
I have HP Pavilion with W8.1 Pro which I upgraded it a couple years ago.
I am using it as a file/media server and do not need higher resolution. I am happy with 1024X768.
I would like to know if there is a way I can upgrade my laptop to W10.

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. We appreciate your interest in Windows 10.
To install Windows 10 you have to install all the latest Windows updates, and upgrade all the device drivers which is compatible with Windows 10 OS.
You can change the display resolution from Windows settings after upgrading to Windows 10. However it is recommended that you keep the screen resolution in 1920 x 1080.
Update the Display driver from Device Manager manually by following the steps below, and check if the issue is resolved.
Step 1: Press Windows key + X, and click on Device Manager.
Step 2: Expand Display Adapter option.
Step 3: Right click on the video driver, and select Update Driver Software.
Step 4: Restart the computer, and check if the changes is effective.
To change the system display resolution, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Type Settings in the search box next to Start icon, and select the top most search result.
Step 2: Select Systems form the window, and click on Display option from the left hand side panel.
Step 3: At the bottom of the page click on Advanced display settings, and from the drop down bar under Resolution, select 1920 x 1080.
You can also download and install Windows 10 by using Media Creation Tool from the link below:
Hope this helps!

I guess I need to clarify my question. I do understand wholly about the requirement that MS placed upon, to upgrade to windows 10.
What I want to know is that if there is a way to make the installation to bypass a display driver validation process or something in this nature and go ahead with the upgrade even the system does not have a windows 10 compatible display driver.
I want to upgrade my laptop to windows 10 to stay in eco system (like I did from Vista it came with to Windows 8.1 Pro)and continue to receive updates in the future.
Since my intention is to use this system as a file/media server, sort of, I do not require it to be 1920 X 1080 or anything like this. 1024 X768 is more than enough for what it worth and what I intend to do. And MS is offering the upgrade for FREE and I want to take an advantage of this offer and stay safe from all these crazy hackings that I hear about daily.
Can you tell me or show me how to continue with the installation despite of this issue on hand?
When i turned on my PC after having it off for about 3 hours, I noticed that I was starting to get obvious display errors with green lines going through my DOS load up screen and continuing until Vista started up. I got a error from Vista right away saying that incompatible display adapter has neem disabled.
Opening up my device manager, I see that windows has disabled both my video cards because they have reported errors. I have two video cards, an NVIDIA GeForce 6100 NForce 405, and an NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT. Upon opening up the properties for both, I see this error :
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
I have had this PC for about 2 years, and shortly after getting it is when I installed 8800GT video card. I have kept the onboard videocard (6100 nforce) disabled in all that time and have not been using it.
I have tried updating the drivers, uninstalling one or both video cards at a time, rolling back drivers, uninstalling my 8800GT video card, and reloading the original driver set for the onboard video card. When I uninstalled the 8800GT through the device manager and manually removed it from the motherboard, the PC wouldnt start at all. After reinstalling it, I still have the same issues.
Right now the PC is displaying to my monitor through the 8800GT, I can't get anything to display through the 6100, even though i have both enabled at the moment.
When I go to display under windows personalization, it does not recognize either of my monitors (just has them listed as generic where it did not before) it wont let me slow down or speed up video accleration, and lists absolutely no display driver information.
I cannot run any sort of gaming (from online gaming to solitare) as it cannot find any video driver. I also cannot run any sort of video.
I don't understand how windows says both of my video cards are disabled and shut off, and yet I can still see things on my monitor. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it, including downloading drivers directly from windows update, the PC manufacture, and the NVIDIA website.
Any suggestions to fix this would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Thank you for your response. I have tried both of the above options several times. Microsoft FixIt finds the problems but apparently can do nothing to fix them and is what originally directed me here to these forums.
I tried reinstalling original drivers, and that has not worked either, I reinstalled the original driver from the manufacture and get the same errors. I even completely reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows vista with the original video card drivers, still the same problem.
My PC continues to recognize both video cards, but says both are incompatible with windows and have been shut down (which is strange because i used both video cards in windows for some years now with no problems).
I have downloaded every driver from my PC manufacture, from NVIDIA, and from microsoft that I can find. I have tried reinstalling the original drivers, uninstalling one or both video cards, disabling one or both video cards, enabling one or both video cards, no results no matter what I do. At this point it seems that the PC has decided the second video card i added is the main one (NVIDIA 8800GT) and will not run the onboard video card no matter what I try. It still displays on the monitor hooked up to the 8800gt (albeit with many green lines and display errors).
The only thing I can think of is that this is a Vista related error and has nothing to do with the video cards themselves, considering I have installed the original drivers, the most updated drivers and everything in between. It seems like Vista believes my secondary card is my primary one, as it continues to display through my secondary card even when I uninstall it through the device manager.
I can't tie the problem to any updates, although I updated windows the same day it started having errors, it was several hours after updating that the PC started to display errors.
There was literally no user changes between the time it was working and stopped working. I don't think it was an issue of video cards over heating as they stopped working less than 15 minutes after i turned my PC on that day, and all the fans internally seem to be working just fine.

Продолжение банкета : - сделал ещё кое-какие шаги, теперь у меня доступны все режимы монитора, все герцовки (в том числе и недоступные), всё работает так как на ХП, единственная разница в трее висит RefreshLock, вот как это выглядит :
[Laptop1680x1050x100.Install]
DelReg=DCR
AddReg=1680X1050VESA100, DPMS (также уже моя версия, было VESA85 чтоли, вобщем тупо везде заменил герцы на то, что мне надо)
[1680x1050VESA100]
HKR,"MODES\640,480",Mode1,,"31.5,60.0,-,-"
HKR,"MODES\1680,1050",Mode1,,"30.0-121.0,48.0-160.0,+,+"
HKR,,PreferredMode,,"1680,1050,100" (также понятно что я заменил. причём эту секцию я добавил и в "Sections that are based on GTF" и в "; New sections that adhere to VESA standards", на всякий случай
